As per the experts, the Physics, Logic and Quantitative Reasoning were tough compared to other sections. Whereas, biology and chemistry were easy. To note that these two sections logical reasoning and English play an important role in ranking variation. It is important to realize that even if you score well in physics, chemistry, biology, a poor score in English would bring down ranking.

CHEMISTRY: It was theoretical. If you knew facts and could apply logic to questions asked, you could answer them. As mention above, the chemistry section was easy. Most of the questions came directly from the syllabus. Few questions were moderate. Chemistry consisted more of biochemistry than actually pure chemistry. Many questions were from biomolecules and even some structure of biomolecules and everyday chemistry.

BIOLOGY: More than 80% questions in Biology were from NCERT. Zoology questions were more in number than botany at first glance. When it comes to biology it was easy. Many questions came from NCERT directly. However, there was few question which was complex. Overall, there was balance between moderate and tough questions in Biology subject.

PHYSICS: It was of moderate difficulty and bit lengthy. Most of the students faced problem in this section. Due to lengthy calculation, some students couldn’t able to finish the paper on time. Overall Physics remained tricky and calculative for the students.         It contained questions all along from thermo to optics, nature physics and semiconductor and also some good ones from mechanics.

ENGLISH & LOGICAL REASONING: This is one section which is of the concern for lot of students. This year several questions in logical reasoning were what should have been in English, like antonyms and synonyms so one can say it was more of an extension of English. Last but not least the English comprehension was easy for the students.
