PGIMER MD/MS CHANDIGARH

 

PGIMER is held twice a year in the months of November and May for medical graduates seeking admission to 143 Master of Surgery (MS) and Doctor of Medicine (MD) courses in the institution, i.e. January & July Session. The entrance examination of PGIMER 2019 was held in offline mode which means as a pen and paper based exam. 

 

Candidates will be considered for selection to MD/MS courses based on a theory paper consisting of 250 multiple choice question (MCQs) with five alternatives each and single/multiple correct responses. Negative marks will be given for incorrect responses marked. The duration of this competitive entrance examination, to be conducted at various centres at Chandigarh is three hours.

 

Eligibility

 

For MD/MS Courses:

  • Qualifying Exam: Must pass the MBBS examination from the MCI recognized University/Institution.
  • Internship: Candidates should complete on year rotatory internship training on or before 31st December 2018 (January session)/31st June 2019 (July session).
  • Candidates should register with Central /State Medical Registration Council.

·         Candidate sare are given higher rank in the following manner;

  • Higher aggregate marks in MBBS
  • Older in age

Marking Scheme of PGIMER Exam Pattern 2019

  • There will be a total of 250 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with five alternative responses for each question in the question paper of PGIMER 2019.
  • Each question will have single/multiple correct response(s) in a manner that each question will have at least one correct response and may or may not have more than one correct response.
  • For every correct answer, candidates are awarded positive marks and there is negative marks for each incorrect answer. No mark has been awarded for questions left unanswered according to PGIMER exam pattern 2019.

Note about syllabus: PGI Chandigarh does not specify syllabus for this entrance exam. However, you can see the topics / question distribution above. Considering that this entrance exam is for such candidates who have completed MBBS, the level questions will be as that expected from a MBBS pass candidate.
